They're beautiful scenes. Just like you, I really don't mind them being reused either.Zinnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14935881612077507321noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6272524169407806923.post-51787835421906090402019-05-11T02:11:13.189+02:002019-05-11T02:11:13.189+02:00Maybe the civ that rebuilt V'Ger were the Borg...Maybe the civ that rebuilt V'Ger were the Borg. You're right, that would be an awesome movie, but that's unfortunately not how those movies were made, as you are most likely aware.

Still, I agree with you very enthusiastically about this movie, with a historical footnote.

As you recalled, we waited a long time for this movie, and by 'we' I mean 'us trekkies'. We waited a LONG damned time for this movie, and there were two money shots in this movie that pretty much sum it all up, and they had nothing to do with the main adversary. The first was when Kirk first laid eyes on the Enterprise. We all pretty much transported into his shuttle craft at that point and enjoyed the ride. The second was when they finally launched the Enterprise from drydock.

Both of those scenes made such a strong impression that they were lifted in full for Star Trek II. And I'm okay with that :)Grimmtoothhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14384688484347073287noreply@blogger.com
